Collier County Medical Society (CCMS), the local professional association for physicians, is pleased to announce the installation of its 2026-2027 board president and directors. Dr. Glenn Groat began his one-year term as the 69th CCMS board president at the Medical Society’s 2026 Annual Meeting, June 20th at Arthrex One Conference Center. Dr. Lisa Cosgrove, Florida Medical Association past president, administered the oath of office, and Dr. Jose Baez, outgoing CCMS board president, presented the ceremonial president’s gavel. The event also featured Dr. Bobby Mukkamala, immediate past president of the American Medical Association, as a guest speaker.

Dr. Groat currently serves as Assistant Managing Partner at Radiology Regional. He has served on the CCMS Board of Directors since 2021 and is also a board member of the Foundation of CCMS, a member of the CCMS ProgramsCommittee, and a CCMS delegate to the Florida Medical Association. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University, completed his internship at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, radiology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and Body Imaging and Interventional Radiology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Groat is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the American College of Radiology.

“As President of CCMS, my goal is to strengthen our Society’s role as a source of connection, advocacy, and support for every physician in Collier County, said Dr. Groat. “Regardless of specialty, practice setting, or career stage, we are united by a common mission: providing the highest quality care to our patients and improving the health of our community.”

The new 2026-2027 CCMS board of directors joining Dr. Groat are: Dr. Alexandra Grace, Vice President; Dr. Erik Hiester, Treasurer; Dr. Sonal Sura, Secretary; Dr. Mazen Albeldawi, Officer/Director at Large; and Drs. Tam Mai and Tareq Khader, Directors at Large. Dr. Jose Baez remains on the board as Immediate Past President. Ex-officio board members are April Donahue, CCMS Executive Director; Sheryl Guttman, CCMS Alliance President; and Drs. Brian Rodriguez, Theodore Soares, and Zachary Wald, Resident Physician Representatives. Also elected were alternates for the CCMS delegation to the Florida Medical Association: Drs. George Brinnig, Rafael Haciski, and Michael McGee.

The installation event was attended by approximately 200 local physicians, community leaders, and guests. Presenting sponsors were Apex Brain & Spine, and Preferred Care Home Health Services.
