The Foundation of Collier County Medical Society recently hosted its 12th Annual “Docs and Duffers” charity golf tournament at Bonita Bay Club East in Naples. This fundraising event took place on September 27th and raised over $27,000 in net proceeds. Foundation supporters, including 112 golfers, 20 sponsors, 36 prize donors, and 26 volunteers came together for an enjoyable day of golf, contests, a tournament raffle, and an awards luncheon ceremony.
“We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support and outstanding generosity we receive year after year in our charity golf tournament,” says Dr. Rolando Rivera, Foundation board chair. “The energy and commitment of our golfers, supporters, and volunteers make it possible to raise vital funds for future medical professionals and strengthen our community’s healthcare.”
Money raised from the event will provide scholarships to future medical professionals and funding for local healthcare programs in need. For example, the Foundation has provided over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships over the past 12 years, including the Dr. William and Nancy Lascheid Memorial Scholarship for Medical Students and additional healthcare scholarships. Scholarship applications for 2026 will be available at ccmsfoundation.org in December 2025.
Golf tournament supporters included Ace Sponsor EisnerAmper, Hole-in-One Sponsor Porsche Naples, and Eagle Sponsor Advanced Urology Institute. A link to the full list of sponsors and supporters is online at ccmsfoundation.org/#golf and photos from the tournament are posted at fb.com/ccmsfoundation.
