The Foundation of Collier County Medical Society recently hosted its 13th Annual “Docs and Duffers” charity golf tournament at Bonita Bay Club East in Naples. This fundraising event took place on September 26th and raised nearly $30,000 in net proceeds. All golfer spots sold out more than a month before the tournament. Foundation supporters, including 112 golfers, 21 sponsors, 32 prize donors, and 16 volunteers came together for a memorable day of golf, contests, a tournament raffle, and an awards luncheon ceremony.
Additionally, tickets are still available for the Foundation’s Masters Tournament Raffle. Prize includes one-day passes for two attendees to the 2028 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, choice of tournament day, April 6-9, 2028, plus a Masters shirt and hat for each attendee. The suggested minimum donation is $200 per ticket and only 100 tickets will be entered. Interested participants can visit ccmsonline.org/foundation-masters2028 for details.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this year’s tournament, including our golfers, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and the staff at Bonita Bay Club,” says Dr. Rolando Rivera, Foundation board chair. “Selling out of all of our golfer spots more than a month before the tournament reflects the continued support for this event and the Foundation’s work.”
Money raised will provide scholarships to future medical professionals and funding for local healthcare programs in need. The Foundation awarded 7 scholarships in 2026, for a total of $41,000, and has awarded nearly $325,000 in scholarships since 2013. Scholarship applications for 2027 will be available at ccmsfoundation.org in December of this year.
